What?
Learning circles refer to an activity which organises students into groups who collaboratively explore a topic, share resources, and construct knowledge together. This social interaction fosters deeper understanding and the construction of shared meaning.
How?
Step 1. Select a relevant topic or theme, gather appropriate resources, and create a structured framework for the learning circle. Identify discussion prompts or questions to stimulate meaningful dialogue and plan for any necessary materials or technology.
Step 2. Divide students into small groups for the learning circles. Establish clear guidelines for respectful communication, active listening, and equal participation. Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and collaborate effectively within their groups.
Step 3. Serve as a facilitator during sessions. Encourage open discussions, guide the conversation when needed, and ensure participants have opportunities to contribute. Allow for reflection after each session to consolidate learning and address challenges.
